Pale Disc, What type of damage?

I have been told I have a pale disc and not to worry, for now.

My understanding of a pale disc is that this is caused by cell death in the optic nerve. Am I right or wrong in this assumptions? Can a pale disc be caused by some temporary factors too, or just the death of atrophy of the optic nerve.

I dont have a loss of vision, my pressures are fine, and my last fields test showed no problem.

No, optic nerve is brain tissue and does not regnerate. Maybe someday. Not very soon likely.

Pale disk can be due to a variety of problems some very serious some not so and related to disk structure.

I suggest you see a neuroophthalmologist to find out for sure. Find one at www.aao.org
