Pathological myopia?

Hello,

I am a 25yo female. My left eye is -6 and my right is -2.5. Is my left eye considered "pathologically" or "degenerative" myopia? From what I've read online, I am afraid that it is. Due to the high refractive error, am I likely to lose sight in that eye? I get annual eye exams from an eye MD and am scheduled for one next week. However, I've never really gotten a definitive answer in the past about whether my nearsightedness is a concern. If my prescription has changed again, should I be concerned?

Thanks for any input. I worry a lot about my vision, and I'd appreciate any advice.

This discussion is related to different sized eye(ball)s.

Most eyes with -6.00 are NOT degenerative or pathologic myopia. If you had this your Eye MD would tell you.
