Ped far sightedness

My daughter has been diagnosed farsighted- YET has 20/20 vision. What is the point of glasses now as opposed to waiting until she complains of vision problems? She is 7 years old

Thanks- I feel a second opinion is best also- so far she has no symptoms and cant understand why the "eye guy" said that she must get glasses- perhaps a ped opthalmologist will explain it better to both of us !

1. If there is a large amount of farsightedness it can cause headaches, eye strain and in some people can cause double vision and crossed eyes.

I suggest you take the child to a pediatric ophthalmologist for an evaluation. Most children are farsighted and the great majority do not need glasses.
