Permanent Issues after ZYLET use

I was given ZYLET to use for 10 days because I was having a feeling of grittiness feeling in my eyes (worse in one than the other).  Upon using it, my eyes never looked or felt better BUT, within less than a week after STOPPING these drops my eyes were bloodshot (veins obvious) and the inside of the lower lids were very red.   It has persisted and I am 6 weeks out from having stopped the drops.  Is this is a possible side effect/reaction from ZYLET?  My eyes were not bloodshot and red (inner lid) anywhere near like this BEFORE the drops - they were just irritated and scratchy.  My eye doctor thinks I might have dry eye.   I am more curious to know if ZYLET use could have caused a long term rebound of sorts.

Zylet would not cause that type of problem 6 weeks post stopping. It is completely metabolized and out of the eye withint 72 hours. Much more likely that it is a condition like dry eye causing it. Use the search feature and go to Dr. Hagan blog and read about dry eyes.

Thank you for directing me to the dry eye info.  It is info I have read before but a good reminder.  I think dry eye has become a catch all for a lot of eye irritation problems and since so many people's experience with 'dry eye' are different, it's easy to attribute a host of reactions or other symptoms to 'dry eye'.
