Possible eye damage from led light close to eye

Hi, I am concerned after accidentally dazzling myself with an led light. I bought a mini magnifying microscope, with very bright led lights (possibly partly uv). It came with no instructions and while trying to figure it out i stupidly switched it on the wrong way round. I blinked and turned it off immediately, but it was very bright, close to eye. For four days since i have had a smallish afterimage in centre of my eye. Will it go? Have I damaged my sight? I went to see optician today, but he said retina looked fine. Yet I still see it. I am scared I have done terrible harm to my vision. Thanks very much for your advice.

Thanks, what you say is reassuring. There was very little paperwork, except a CE logo on the microscope (meaning conforms to european standards), but that probly only applies to normal usage. Anyhow, I appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Any light like a laser that how enough power to damage the eyes usually has a  warning adfixed to it and warnings in the documentation.  If your eye looked normal given the circumstance and light involved it is unlikely you have done any permanent damage and I would expect the image to fade and go away completely.
