Posterior Vitreous Detachment PVD

Hi,everyone! Time passes - and my questions become strange - but logical! For the third year now, I have lightning bolts -  rainbows under my eyebrows. Questions: If there are small holes in the retinas (both my eyes have PVD) - and if these small holes (tears) are not noticed by a doctor - what does this mean? Are "unnoticed holes" a danger - and what can they harm? Because if they don't see lacerations - the doctors only watch - but I should be afraid... That's right - the doctors look at me, they don't see lacerations - but I see lightning three years after PVD and I'm scared. Is there any way my status can be changed - if I know exactly what my situation is?? And most importantly - what should I do - apart from checkups every 6 months? If I decide on a preventive laser - and if it is successful - is there still a restriction on lifting heavy objects (households) say the car battery, changing a tire or the like? Please, if there is anyone who has done laser for PVD - let me know about the result of this treatment.

These are not questions I can answer,  they are very individual cases.  Only your surgeon can answer and they questions do not lend themselves to response without looking in the eye.

Thanks, D-r Hagan!
sure, best of luck
Just throwing this out there.  After my pvd, followed by victrectomy for retina detachments, cataract repair, and yag laser in BOTH eyes.   I still have occasional flashes going on 5 years from the last surgery.   Dr said it’s common after the trauma.  I have learned to ignore them for the most part.  I do see the ophthalmologist and retina surgeon for checkups annually (I alternate between the two every 6 months).
Thanks xltjim!
You've been through a lot of hardships.
I hope you are well and have no more problems.
If you could answer me - how long after the PVD diagnosis - did you develop a retinal tear and what were the symptoms? Are you currently following any regimen to avoid physical exertion, weights, etc.? Cataract surgery was done by what method?
Are there things that bother you - you can tell me if you want. Was the laser successful and helpful? Thank you again!
P.S. About changing doctors - I do that too - but they always ask me for the documents from previous examinations, which I don't like, because they just copy the data from them. But that's the way things are
Everyone is different.   You can review my posts if you wish.  Consult your ophthalmologist for specifics.   Know the signs of retinal detachment.  Millions of black dots like ink in your vision.! Lightning flashes.  A curtain or shadow blocking your vision.   Consider these an emergency and get in somewhere asap.   That’s about all I can say.
What you said is very important
xltjim - Thanks!  I will take a look at your posts - I hope to find out if a person returns to the previous life (after surgery or laser) - or if the restrictions on physical activities remain forever. I wish you health and luck!
