Red/Dry eyes

Needed some advice on what I should do. I have been going to my eye doctor for over a month. At first it was due to an eye inflammation caused by mainly my contacts. I was put on steriod drops for that time period. Problem was the redness never went away. The doctor said my eyes are fine except that they are dry. He even had another doctor come in to confirm that my eyes were ok but they were dry. Tuesday is when I stopped the Steriod drops like they said and starting using Blink tear drops. Today is Friday and my eyes look reder and also during this time I have been getting these small headachs that come and go above my eye. My eyes also feel very tired like they want to close. I work in an office where I sit in front of the computer for 8 hours and also has the ac vent almost right above me. Wanted to know if it is common for dry eyes to cause this problem I am having?

The reddness is not due to the contacts as I have not worn my contacts for over two months and the reddness has increased. I had a second opinion and both were Eye MD opthalmologists. They both advised that I have dry eyes which I never had before I went on the drops they perscribed for me. They told me to just keep applying lubricating drops, but since I started doing it the reddness has increase in my eye so that today its covering my entire right side. Last night I also started to feel some soreness in it. I am also wondering if it is due to allergies, as since this started I have been getting really bad allegy attacks which i never had in the past. Could increased reddness in the eye be caused by allergies?

Stop wearing the contacts and prepare yourself for the fact you may not be able to go back to them. See an Eye MD ophthalmologist for a second opinion, perhaps even a cornea specialist.
