Red eye after contact use

I have been wearing contacts for 9 years and have always worn the same brand (Aquatech 2 with Opti Free solution).  About a month ago I woke up and my left eye was very red and thought it might be irritated so I wore my glasses for a few days and allowed them to clear up.  I opened a new pair of contacts and used them for two days with no problems.  When I woke up the third day my eye was bright red again.  I have been wearing glasses and occasionally trying to go back to contacts but I keep having the same problem.  Could this be from the solution?  Also, this began with a new box of contacts and in less than a month I have used a 3 month supply of contacts from continuously throwing them away.  Is it possible something is different about this box is "bad"?  I'm ordering new ones since I'm almost out now, and also switched to clearcare solutions.  Im hoping this works but any other advice would be appreciated, I hate wearing glasses all the time!

Anyone wearing contacts should be under the care of an optometrist or ophthalmologist and it is to him/her you should ask these questions.

It would be a good idea to see your eye care provider before ordering new contacts.  I'd think that a solution problem would affect both eyes.  Defective lenses are possible, I guess, but it's much more likely that there is some problem with your left eye and/or the fit of your left contact.
