SLIPSHOD attachment

I had surgery to reattach my retina.  After surgery when I look at something with my good eye and then I open  the eye that had the surgery the images do not line up. if my good eye sees something that is straight across the eye that had surgery will see it as having a downward slant of 20 degrees so that they never line up. Is this common for detached retina surgery.

This is after surgery last September where they 3 hours fixing the eye with the gas bubble. That didn't take. November another 3 hour operation to reattach, remove the lens and put silicon oil in the eye. Then in february take out the oil. April put in a lens.

Yes both the retinal detachment and/or the surgery itself can cause double vision, the eyes not lining up or distorted vision.

Hi,

I am a community leader here, not a doctor.

As a veteran of five attachment surgeries, I think it may be the gas bubble in your eye that is creating the distortion. Usually, you should ask your surgeon directly about your concerns. Follow up the answer that you will get in a while with a call/visit with your surgeon, if you have other questions. Make a list.

I believe we can safely answer this one, but wait until the doctor comes on.
