STEROID IMPLANTS FOR EYES

by CHUCK_M, Jun 03, 2008 06:49PM
Our Doctor is recommending Steroid Implants to treat my Father's eyes.  He has had about 3 steroid shots in each eye.  The shots seemed to to reduce the fluid behind his eye and temporarily aided his eyesight, but we are now considering "steroid implants" rather than more "eyeball shots".  Would like to hear about success rate, degree of sight improvement that may result and any downsides/side-effects.   Thank you.

This discussion is related to Ocular steroid shot.

Steroid implants are major therapy for major problems. Main risks are steroid glaucoma and cataract formation.

You need to get the specifics from the surgoen eye MD

I am so sorry. I have made a mental note, but sometimes I make the error again. I guess it's because I know Irish names that end in "an." It's Irish, right?

I meant to say I have seen a lot of --en, not --an names.Like "Holden," and some names from James Joyce, one of my literary loves.
