Cosmetic issues vary.
Immediately following surgery your eye will suffer the usual post-op symptoms, like red eye, some drainage, etc.
Some patients will develop hypotony as a result of oil removal. The extremely low IOP may cause problems later down the road. In some cases the pressure will rebound after some time and be within the normal range.
If your eye is completely blind (no light perception) then with time you may develop pthisis bulbi which will result in pain and a shrinking globe (eye).
Also, with repeated surgeries, some people may end up with ptosis where the lid droops, which may cause the eye to appear smaller.
In general, there are always risks to surgery, so know them well before undergoing a procedure.
The process of oil removal shouldn't leave your eye cosmetically disfigured.
Good question...
Mine is being sucessful til now - I just cannot read with that eye.
Keep the oil still - 7 to 8 months pos op and I already feel my eye I little smaller.
Wishing you all the best!
