Every so often, my eyelids will be come extremely dry. I first knew something was wrong when I noticed that when I rubbed my eyes, even slightly, little pieces of skin would come off of my top eyelid. This happened when I was putting on my makeup. Throughout the day, my eyelids (my whole face really) felt really heavy, thick, and uncomfortable. When I took off my makeup later in the day, my eyelids were burning, stinging, and incredibly dry. So, I put on Cerave's night moisturizer for dry skin and an eye moisturizer around my eyes. When I woke up, I had these incredibly deep under-eye wrinkles that just sprung up out of nowhere, wrinkles on my eyelids, they were very painful and even more dry than the day before.
I put some vaseline on them to help moisturize them but it's only gotten worse. One eye is fine but still a bit sensitive, but the other eye is getting worse. It's also a very weird and wrinkly texture with a lot of bumps and fine lines on my upper eyelid spreading down to just above my cheek bone.
This has happened before but never this extreme. About a week ago, I noticed after I took off my makeup that my eyelids had swollen TREMENDOUSLY and felt huge and puffy but it went down in a couple of hours.
I use Simple micellar water to take my makeup off and I've been using the same makeup for about 5 months (when I had similar experiences, it was with different makeup products). I use epiduo on my forehead, nose, and chin area. I usually use Cerave PM moisturizer and Olay's 30 SPF moisturizer in the morning.
I have a couple questions! What can I do to help the area (like for the pain, the irritation, etc.)? Is it possibly an allergy to one of the ingredients I use? Or is it something else?
Thank you!
