Symptoms of PVD and floaters

Dear doctors:
Four months after cataract surgery, I still have retinal edema which is not responding to drops (and a macular pucker).  A steroid shot was administered a week ago. A large colorless floater which I believe I noticed before the shot (but it was a minor bother) now remains right in front of my vision and I cannot see through it - all is blurry  It does move about but very slowly.
The shot caused  2 types of floaters - one a huge black tangles rope hanging from top and swaying; the other what seemed like a thousand black dots/specs flying around.   My surgeon said floaters are normal after the shot, but I did not describe them to him. I will see him next week.   Both types of floaters have largely disappeared.  I am hoping that this colorless one goes away also, but I am worried that I could be experienceing vitreal detachment.  Could the specs have been blood? I did not experiencing  flashes.  Does vitreal detachment need both symptoms?
Thank you.

It is due to the medication in the steriod injection.  This will clear with time.  You will probably need a pars plana vitrectomy for the macular pucker.
