Riding in the car today, hubby turned on the a/c to full and a hair blew in and out of my eye. Two hours later, I still had the scratchy sensation so I went to the vision center at Walmart (it's a Saturday) and the optometrist used a silt and dye to check the eye. She saw a very tiny scratch on the bottom of the cornea. She said VERY tiny.
She was/ wasn't then was going to give me an antibiotic drop and said to use moisturizing drops, too, as I have dry eye. I took the script to the pharmacy and they pointed out it contained Sulfa and I'm allergic to sulfa drugs. Went back to the vision center and she was leaving. She said to just use the moisture drops and come back on Monday for a free recheck but she felt it would heal within a day by itself.
It's been 7 hours and I can still feel a 'scratch' or 'something in my eye' sensation at times. It's not constant. No pain, no oozing, no redness, no vision change. I purchased the name brand drops for dry eyes she recommended and have used it a number of times already.
Should I be concerned that I'll be without antibiotics for 2 days before seeing her again? If this is so tiny, shouldn't the sensation be gone soon?
