If you did not see a specialist (retinologist/vitreoretinal specialist) today, see you tomorrow a.m.! You need to act immediately. These doctors are ophthalmologists who specialize in your problem.
I wish the best for you.
The retina group at Washington University School of Medicine, Dept of Ophthalmology are excellent.
You can also find other ophthalmologists that specialize in retina at www.aao.org
JCH IIII MD
I've seen the doctor recommend Washington University Ophtomology.

From what I understand time is of essence in almost all retina tears. I would call them immediately and try to go in and see a retina specialist today. Or go to another ER.
An optomologist who does not know what to do is not going to hell your cause.
