From Lost Vision:
My refraction is - 1.50 +.75 x 68 deg right eye 20/40.J-10 vision. -1.50 +2.00 x 180deg left 20/25,J-5 with ghosting with no additional read.
I have visually significant scar in the right eye from a foreign body injury,center,100 microns.Doctor #3, who is an MD in this field, who also teaches at OSU,reports that there was no"value" in using a Cystalens in that eye.
He also reports that I have,in my left eye, an astigmatism that needs a limbal relaxing incision or some similar procedure.Laser on the right is out due to the depth of the scar.
Your telling me, all I need is eye drops????? I will pass that along to Doctor K, so he can note that in class to his students.I say, I funked the glare test, was sold an up-grade that would never work (for profit) and the future of High Profit Laser Surgery for the "installing" Doctor to make more money, with no regaurd to my existing problems. That is also the opion of both,Doctor #2 and #3.I have to see Doctor #4 in early October, that shall be the icing on the cake, or the CASE, for me.
First, this can be fixed. It seems you have had a myopic shift or target was missed. HD do best at a target of +.25 to plano(zero) where as the previous Crystalens AT50SE did best with a target of -.25 to -.50 depending on the surgeon.
First, I need to know your refraction. For this vision it is probably about -1.25 to -1.75. This can be reversed with Cylcoplegic drops over a few weeks to a month.
You nee a special ultrasound to check the movement of the lens. However, the current theory on how this lens works is a combination of moving and arching of the lens. Cycloplegic refraction can help determine some of the problems.
You may consider getting a second opinion from a surgeon at a Crystalens Centers of Excellence. Find one on their site.
Good luck.
Dr. O.
Laser vision correction can fix this problems ff your range of vision is good with a contact lens
