Last week I had a cataract removed and a monofocal intraocular lens fitted in my left eye. The lens fitted was an Acrysof foldable IOL model MA60AC, power 25.0 D, length 13.0 mm, optic 6.0 mm. The following day, vision through the eye was brilliant (later measured to be 6/6,) but I now found that I could see a curved dark line running vertically down the left edge of my visual field. At first, I thought the lens had shifted and that what I was seeing was the left edge of the lens. I saw the surgeon at once and she confirmed that the lens had not moved at all and was exactly where it ought to be. She considered that it is impossible that what I am seeing is the edge of the lens; but she did not say what the line could be. So what can the dark line be? The only other thing I can think of is some foreign body, such as an eye lash, that has somehow gotten into the incision or a fault in the lens. Can anybody please advise?
