Which Replacement Lens Poses Least Risk?

I have read so many postings about problems with rezoom, crystalens, and restor.  Is it the least risky route to simply go with a monofocal IOL?

Yes, monofocal IOLs are associated with far fewer post-surgery problems.  And aspheric monofocal IOLs are really state-of-the-art.  Check out the patient information video at www tecnisiol com to see what this type of IOL can do for you.

If you want to minimize your dependence on glasses, then have your IOLs set for blended vision (distance vision in dominant eye, intermediate vision in non-dominant).  If all goes as planned, you would only need glasses for prolonged reading or seeing small print.   You would NOT need glasses for driving.  (This is at least as good--and probably much better--then what you would get with any of the "premium" IOLs.  And there's no out-of-pocket surcharge.)
