Worsening of astigmatism

My cyl used to be
od -2.5D os -1.5D.
However, recently I had an auto refractometer exam and got
od -3.68D os -2.86D.
The ophthalmologyst said it shouldn't change and I read on Mayo clinic's website that it may develop "due to injury, disease or surgery".

I had no injury or surgery. Is there a disease beyound my reckon I should be worried about? What causes worsening of astigmatism?

Astigmatism is not a disease it just means usually the cornea is not round (spherical) but oval (aspherical).  You must have misunderstood for astigmatism does change over time especially in young people.  Also an auto-refraction is not the glasses give which is a subjective refraction.  Injury, disease and surgery can cause astigmatism but mostly it develops and changes on its own.  That is a fairly large change and you might want to ask for a cornea topography to be sure you do not have cornea disease.
