about high myopia and sports

Hello doctor.I'm 19 years old with a myopia of 6.25(L) and 6.75(R),my myopia have not increased for more than 3 years. It is stable now .I want to have a eye check next month.what i wanna ask is :IF my checking result is FINE(in other words, NO retinopathy in my eyes),in my situation, is it safe for me to play basketball with proper eye protection?would you allow your patients who have the similar condition to me to play basketball?or are their any constraints on playing basketball?(frequency, body contact, head injury, etc.)i've been playing basketball for 3 years but i have much concern about RD these days so I stopped playing basketball 8 months before.Could you give me some suggestions about the prevention of RD?what are some other activities that you will tell your patients with high myopia NOT to do?SORRY to take you so much time again,Sir.But i think you can understand my feeling.I'm still very young and i want to repay my family and the people who love me.So i should have a healthy body through exercises. If i get RD due to sports how can i do good things to my family and other people...
Most of the MDs in my country(China) won't allow high myopia people to play "violent" sports, and they always consider basketball as a "violent" sport. I am confuse about this .what should i do?Hope you can give me an answer.Thank you very much,Sir!God bless you!!!

because,i think both of them jerk my head more or less.May be they can not be counted as "violently"?I know what should i avoid ,i just curious that which of these two is safer.Roughly, both of them are not in your dangerous list for high myopia.

Thank you again doctor! I still have a question that put much pressure on me:comparing basketball(wear proper protective goggles) to running/jogging(5min per km),for the situation like me,to reduce the risk of RD,which one is safer?or they are the same?(suppose if i have high myopia without any retinal degration, diseases).I've played basketball for 3 years and running everyday for a long time and now i have no problem but anxiety.Sorry to bother you so much!Sir ,life if full of choices, and of course i wanna choose something that safer for me.

Good luck but always wear proper eye protection and have a yearly exam by an ophthalmologist.

WIth a normal retinal exam and that refractive error I would allow my patients to play basketsball, even football or soccer as long as they wore proper eye protection. Regular glasses will not suffice, need impact resistant sports goggles
