acanthamoeba kerititis
I have an acanthamoeba infection in my right eye that is presently healing. If anyone has experience with this bug what was the duration of treatment and the ultimate outcome as far as permanent damage? Thank you for any replies.
If my corneal scarring causes permanent blurring can glasses correct this or do I have to have a transplant? Thanks

since we have an expert in acanthamoeba treatment in our group I do not treat them. However I believe at some part the medications must be stopped to see if there is a flare up. Sometimes a challenging dose of steroids is used to try and provoke any "sleeping" cysts.

How can you tell when the cysts are gone? Is is when the inflammation is no longer present? Does the pain last for the duration of treatment? Thanks
