Is a vitrectomy the usual treatment for my condition?

Hi, I am a 25 year old with a retinal hemorrhage/macular pucker/Coat's Disease variant in my right eye. My vision has been getting worse and gone to 20/80. I am being treated with Avastin injections and awaiting a vitrectomy. However, I am worried about cataracts forming after the vitrectomy. So I want to make sure that a vitrectomy is the usual treatment recommended for my condition.

Yes and the cataracts are unavoidable with today's technology but don't present any problems to cataract surgery later.
