astigmatism of 1 dioptre in toodler 6 years old

by Lena1970, Jun 17, 2009 07:13AM
My daugther has regular astigmatism - 1 dioptre - and she will be 6 years old in August. She has never complained about headaches etc.

I have consulted 2 different ophthalmologists: one of them said she needs to wear glasses before she is 7  and the astigmatism can be corrected until she is 12. The other told me that her astigmatism can not be corrected, that the glasses might make her feel more confortable, but that we should wait, and monitor the development of astigmatism in 6 months.

I have then 2 different opinions. Which one is correct?
