big red ball on the eyelid

Hello, my 3 year old son have a really bad eye infection about 3 to 4 weeks ago, it started as pink eye and then, it develop to a different kind of infection, where he got alot of white little ball under his eyelids, and some big red balls on top of his eyelid. I took him his to his doctor, he gave him antibiotics, it help him, but the big red ball on top of his eyelid, never went away. and now is being a month and he got this huge ball in top on his right eyelid, it doesnt seem to have any thing inside is just feel hard, and sometimes he complain that it bother him, but not much and i just wanted to know, if is normal? will it go away? or should i go and have him check out  again?  Please help, i tend to worry about my kid alot, and i do what the doctor tells me to do, warm compressers, ointment that he prescribe, everything and nothing seems to be helping him. What is wrong? Thank you in advance.

No his pediatrician has not told me that, But thank you for answering. I am gonna make him an appointment to get a referral.  thank you for the info

Have your pediatician refer you to an ophthalmologist. It could be a stype, chalazion, pyogenic granuloma, or vascular growth. None of these are real serious but do require specialized care. In the USA also find one near you at www.aao.org
