bright sunlight on eye

i have an important question. so, my little sister looked directly at the sun but then quickly closed her eyes . so the question is that, will her eyes still be damaged even though her eyes were closed, her eyes were still directly at the sun but they were just closed.she could feel the really bright light on her eyes. will the sun, like still burn through the eyes or just the outer layer of the eyes.

please answer accurately. thank-you so much

If the eye was damaged she would have a dark or white spot in the very center of the vision of the eye that would cause a blank spot.
