more info

After reading some of the postings I have decided to go a little more in depth regarding my problem.  Sometimes I only get the itching then red swelling, burning, and dry skin.  But sometimes as in yesterday I get these huge blisters under my eyes with the upper lids being red and swollen.  Once I had blisters on both the upper and lower and could not open my eyes.  This has been going on for 5 years.  I have been to eye doctors, regular doctors, dermatologists etc.  NOTHING EVER WORKS!  It always comes back and there is no way to know when or why.  I have changed shampoos, do not use a conditioner anymore, use only the mildest of creams and makeups.  It is like it will finally run it course and leave my body only to return again.  Sometimes I go months with nothing other times it is still there with dryness on upper eyelids and under eye only to forge into full blown blisters again a week later.

I am really desperate here as I have gone to every type of doctor available with absolutely no help.  None of the prescriptions take it fully away and nothing keeps it away.

So with all of these postings has anyone had the blisters with there problem.  I look like a monster!  The elephant man would be quite jealous of me!

Just "joined" the group with itchy, red (inflammed) skin of eyes (both) and surrounding area.  It is nice to know I am not alone in this malady.  For those of you younger women, I started going to an allergist in my early thirties when I started having "hayfever" symptoms.  He did titration and after a dedicated year of testing and treatment (called "desensitization") I was a different woman. However, there is something to that hormonal business because at various times in my life afterward (now 63) either due to pregnancy or new residence, new symptoms would flare up. Yes, I now have a dog (20 lb. American rat terrier) that I love, but this eye thing occurred before him.
Decided to break down and return to my allergist, because it cannot be tree pollens in January! Also, will try some of the creams, etc. many of you have recommended and get back to you. (BTW I have used Clinique for over 15 years!  But at times of flareups, I can't tolerate any makeup, moisturizer, etc. on my eye skin.)
In searchin the internet, this was the only place that I could find that gave my any hope!  Thanks to all of you who have posted.

Take some pictures of what it looks like when its at its worse. Go to a world class medical center reasonably near you like Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, etc.
