Monovision

So with any IOL lenses for cataract surgery there seems to be an option for full monovision and micro-monovision. I believe many people set their eyes for one distance and one for intermediate to get more intermediate and to lessen the gap between the differences of the two eyes compared to having it set for distance and one for near. How much monovision is "sufficient" to get a bit more vision from different focuses and would still leave good distant vision without you having to lose much 3D perception and steroposis, and without it being too much of a difference for one to adapt to.
