I had one and they wanted to remove it and I wanted to try the compresses. The doctor told me to go out and get those small red potatoes and warm one in the microwave and wrap it in a warm wet cloth. This keeps the rag warm and you won't have to continually warm the rag. You will be able to have it warm for longer. It worked for me after a few days and the pain went away. Sounds weird but worked. Don't warm the potato too much you don't want it to explode or to burn you when you put it on your eye.
My husband has had them many times over the years. He has had surgery maybe 3-4 times. To help from another one forming, he does the hot compress every morning when he first gets up and when he showers, he makes sure to clean his eyebrows good with baby shampoo (tear free). Your hubby will feel good as new after he gets it taken care of and takes measures to keep from getting it again.
First try hot compress four times per day. If this does not help then consider surgery. It is done in the office and is relatively simple.
