contact lens afer cataract surgery

I had cataract surgery in my left eye 2 months ago. They had to do surgery twice within 3 days because they put in the wrong lens the first time. Now my docter is having trouble fitting my eye with the correct lens. I used to wear hard lens before the surgery because of astigmatism and I still wear one in my right eye. I have no astigmatism anymore and 20/20 far vision in my left eye but can not read at all. Is it normal for people in my situation to have difficulty in gerring contact lens after cataract surgery ?

Unless you are going for a multifocal contact or monovision, you're not going to improve on 20/20 distance vision with a contact lens.  Is your goal better near/intermediate vision?  Either reading glasses or progressive glasses with plano tops (worn over the contact in your right eye) would work in that case.
