corneal abrasions and AK procedure for astigmatism

I had IOL implant 5 years ago and having difficulty due to 2.50 astigmatism and also corneal abrasions.  Can the astigmatism be corrected with Lasik or AK procedure considering I have a moderate amount of corneal abrasion ?
I am also scheduled to have a cataract removed in the other eye in about a month but only a limited degree of astigmatism involved.   Should I ask to have the astigmatism improved or corrected during this new IOL implant?

That's not the kind of news I had hoped for but was almost sure that was what you might tell me.  Do you think perhaps if the surgeon were to replace my current IOL with a toric type lense that it might give me a better vision situation ? Regarding the corneal transplant in the future; would that require medication to prevent tissue rejection for the long term ?
Really appreciate your input. Thank You !

You are probably not a candidate for any refractive procedure on your cornea.  You need to discuss this with your doctor.

Thanks for the quick response to my corneal abrasion issue.  The eye surgeon tells me I have corneal clouding (he calls them putty looking spots) .  My eyes are somewhat dry and this may have caused the problem.  One optician suggested I may need corneal implant in the future ?  At age 68 I feel fairly sure I will still need glasses to attain best vision even with the IOL implant from the cataract surgery but need a better balance between my two eyes.  What would be your opinion as to the more dependable type of correction AK, Lasik ?

Are your sure you have a corneal abrasion? This causes severe pain and usually heals completely.  This can be corrected by LASIK, PRK, AK, or LRI.  You should discuss the astigmatism correction with your doctor.  Both eyes have to have minimal astigmatism in order to eliminate glasses.
