tiny dark dot in iris

I noticed I have a tiny dark dot in my iris.  I can't see it by just looking in the mirror.  I saw it in a magnifying mirror.  I had my eyes dilated 6 months ago and everything was normal.  I don't know if I had it then and the Dr didn't mention it because it was normal or if it something new.  I also got my yearly physical where the Dr. did look in my eyes 4 months ago.  She never said anything either.  I don't know if it has always been there or if it is new.  Should I go back to the eye Dr. or is this nothing to worry about??

Thanks!

It doesn't sound serious but tomorrow why don't you call your eye md and ask the staff  your question.

I don't know if it is new.  I have never noticed it because I can't see it in a regular mirror.  It is that tiny.  I noticed it while using a magnifying make up mirror.  There is only one tiny spot.  Does it sound serious??  My eye Dr is an MD who saw me 6 months ago.
Thanks!!

If you think its NEW then go in. Iris have "freckles" that look like dark spots. Your "eye doctor" should be a MD physician ophthalmologist. If not go see a real Eye MD. Find one at www.aao.org
