Eye problem

My husband is diabetic. He had bleed in the back of his left eye. He checked with Opthalmologist right away & the doctor found out the the bleed is complication of his diabetic & high blood pressure. He was released without medicine but scheduled him for a surgery. After a week from his visit, he had the surgery. The surgery last for about 2 hours with regular anesthesia. After the surgery, the doctor told us that he had so much bleed. He explained, he made hole in the back of his left eye & cleaned, laser & put gas. What is gas? During his first follow up, after the surgery, I asked the doctor if my husband is going to be blind and he said "No" that gave us hope. But, it's been over 2 weeks now and his vision is worse that before & experiencing pain on the side bone above his left eye. Is it too early for us to be worried? Is he going to see or blind? His next f/u is within 3 weeks.Thank you!

Thank you, doctor for your response. His pain is less now but his vision is still the same.  Do we need to discuss with our doctor now or can we wait until his next check up which is on the 16th?

You need to discuss this with your doctor. There must have been scar tissue If a hole was created in the retina at the time of the surgery.
