I've had an eye floater for 2 weeks, so they do actually go?

My Grandma has a eye floater in her right eye. It has been there for 2 days now and she is about to have her check-up at the hospital because of it. She is 60 something so i was wondering if it is an eye floater because most of the comments about eye floaters are from young people.

p.s. please answer my question.

I am not a doctor. I am a community leader here. I have a lot of experience helping eye patients, especially me.

Welcome to our community.

Write back if your need to.

The doctor asked you to do a search because you can learn much from a search. I am an adult educator. The sooner a person can learn independently, he will be more self-sufficient, and get answers sooner.

Also, one cannot summarize floaters in a few sentences.

The doctor also asked you to see an ophthal mologist, because flooaters can sometimes signal problems. Only an examination can reveal if there is a problem. You will feel better once you have checked it out with an eye MD.

Instead of getting told 'do a search' etc, can someone just give me an honest answer here, I came on this site for an answer, not to be told to search! I've been doing that for weeks.

so....

Q1:  WHAT ARE THE CHANCES OF FLOATER GOING?

Regards

Nick,
I have one as well in my right eye. I got the same answer from my doctor as you did. She also said I should take C vitamin and Lutein (vitamin for the eye) to prevent new ones. Doesn't hurt to try...

I went to an optician and he said there is nothing I can do about it, though I've noticed comments on here saying they settle eventually and will no longer be visible? It's only the one floater, but it's impossible to ignore!
