pale nerve in the eye

the other day i went for an eye test cause i hadn't had one for years , the gentalmen testing said that i had a pale nerve in my left eye and had pressure there aswell, I am now worring myself to death as he gave me a letter to take to my gp, which i have done and i am now waiting for a hospital appointment for a head scan to see if anything is cause this as he thought that is could be ( please forgive my spelling!!) begine intercrainan hypertension?? . I have pressure along my forehead, behind my eyes, along my cheeks and temple. i also sometimes get a feel,ing of a stuffie nose, I am now worring myself that i have a brain  tumour please please caqn you help me

Without knowing the training and skill level of the person that saw you I can't tell.

i'm not sure, all i did was go to my local asda where they have an optitions, i also get a tighting feeling on my forehead and my cheeks and temples more so than the pressure behind my eyes, he said that i was long sighted and need glasses for this, I am a worrier i know but i can't help it, so do you thing it benign intracranial hypertension or could it be something to do with my sinusis i do appreciate you getting back to me

It is very important that you determine whether the "gentleman" you saw was a MD eye physician (ophthalmologist) or a non-MD, non-physician optometrist. If you did not see an eye MD then your GP should refer you to a ophthalmologist Eye MD BEFORE you have all these expensive tests.

If you did see a Eye MD ophthalmologist then I hope your tests turn out okay.

Use the search feature and look up "papilledema" and "benign intracranial hypertension"
