eye injury

My 5 year old grandson was poked in the eye with a branch.  1 week later the eye specialist found scarring on the retina.  How long does it take for the scarring to "quit" so they can assess the total damage incurred?  Also, can retinal scars be removed?

You know its hard to relate those two problems. Scars in the eye form about the rate of scars on the skin so you would be talking weeks no A WEEK.

You need to see a retina specialist to see if any therapy is available and to check BOTH eyes.
