feel something at my cornea after laser retinopexy

I had laser retinopexy done a week ago for a retinal tear and I've been having some discomfort at my cornea since. The sensation I get is like having a contact lens on the eye. The eye doctor said 'everything is okay' and gave me hypromellose eye drops to apply. The sensation persists despite applying the eye drops. Is this normal? Thank you in advance!

Thank you very much, Dr JCH.
Fortunately I don't wear contacts, but I do wear spectacles.
The laser retinopexy was done on my right eye 8 days ago. I saw the eye doctor again 3 days ago and my eyes were dilated, retina checked and given the eye drops. Soon after the eye appointment, I felt a 'block' sensation at the inner cantus of my right eye and the lower eyelid near the inner cantus was swollen (lasted 2 days). Now, the swelling has subsided but the sensation still remains. When I shut my left eye with my right eye open, I could see a shadow (shaped of a quarter of a circle) at the 'block' sensation region. When I continue moving my right eye downwards to the left, the 'shadow' also follows the movement downwards left and gradually disappears. It reappears when I look straight ahead again. It seems possible that the eye examination contributed to all this, but I'm also worried that this could be an early sign of retinal detachment. Seeking your expert opinion and advice. Thanking you from my heart, Dr JCH.

Hopefully you don't wear contacts because if you do its likely the contacts. If you don't then the cornea may have a rough spot from where the laser lens was put on the eye. Use artifical tears 6 times/day and Refresh PM gel at bedtime and the problem should clear within a week. If not return to your eye MD
