What happens after treatment for wet MMD

Two years ago, I had a bleed in the retina  which was treated with PDT ... I also had an avistin injection.

#1) does treatment itself leave a scar or is the scar the result of the bleed.

#2) does the scar increase in size even if no continuation of bleeding.

#3) is the distoration of the vision (waving lines, missing spaces, etc.., ) a changing of the macula and will not go away

#4) Is there any help in fixing the retina after damage.

#5) why are eye doctors not up front with MMD.  I have been seeing eye docs since I was 18 and absolutely had no idea of myopic macula degeneration or even pathological myopcia.  It is my eye and life and I was completely devestated by this.

There can be contraction of the scar causing distortion and blur on the adjacent retina. There is always the possibility of small microbleeds or recurrent Wet CNV. There is also such a thing as DRY macular degeneration and that may be the cause.

Thank you ... If the scar does not get bigger, why does it appear that I see a larger surface of a scar/ blister in my eye. And it is getting bigger.  Is this a result of something else beside the scar.  The scar / blister  keeps me from having clear sight. What am I actually seeing in my eye.  I  have been to three RS and no one can give me an answer.

Even if there is no active bleed, can the distorations / waving lines get worse.  I also broght this to the attention of the RS and I get answer related to the changings of the retina which occures in high myopia eyes.  I would agree but it only appears in the eye with the bleed.

This is so confusing and frustrating when no answers make sense.

Thank you.

1 scar is from bleeding
2. no
3. if its not gone by now its not going to go away.
4. Only a retina Eye MD that examines your eye can tell your for sure.
5. I don't know what you have or haven't been told but nothing that you could have been told would have prevented the wet CNV.
