glaucoma, presbyopic and distance vision problem

HI Doctor,

I am having vision problem since grade 8 and using following specification glass since then (now I am 33 years). My left eye have developed laziness and can't be treated further, Its vision is static.

  Right Eye:                                            Left Eye:
SPH    CYL  AXIS                             SPH    CYL  AXIS
-2.50   -0,25  0.36                             +2.00   -1.00  150

- Last year I was diagnosed open angle glaucoma in RIGHT EYE and now I am using Xalacom & Alphagan P to lower eye pressure.

- Almost 2 months before I started feeling blurry near vision problem while reading newspaper, books, reading from near. I had to move newspaper, books little far from me to read.

- I visited doctor and he informed me that I am presbyopic and he gave me new prescryption which is below to use bifocals.

Right Eye:                                                 Left Eye:
SPH    CYL  AXIS   ADD                           SPH    CYL  AXIS    ADD
-2.70   -0,25  0.47   +1.75                          +2.00   -1.00  150    +1.75

My questions are:

1) Is there any permanent eye treatment to correct my Right eye glaucomma, distance and presbyopic problem? Any laser, other lifetime treatment so that I don't have to wear glasses?

2) If there is any treatment then that would that be one time or the effect of those will reduce after some years and I have to repeat same treatment again?

3) How many times eye can be treated either LASER and surgical?

4) Any advise/suggestion for me?

Regards,

rahi

Hi Doctor,

- Two years back I was diagnosed open angle glaucoma in RIGHT EYE and now I am using Xalacom & Alphagan P to lower eye pressure.

- 6 months begore I started feeling blurry near vision problem while reading newspaper, books, reading from near. I visited Optometrist doctor and he informed me that I am presbyopic and he gave me new bifocal prescryption which I am using now.

- After that I saw Eye MD ophthalmologist who checked and said it is presbyopia but its early for the age of 33 he.

- Today again I saw optometrist and he said that I am developing "Cataracts" in right eye. I am waiting for Eye Opthomologist appointment.

My questions are:

1) Is there any permanent eye treatment to correct my "Right eye glaucomma", "Cataracts in right eye" ? Any laser, other lifetime treatment.

2) If there is any treatment then that would that be one time or the effect of those will reduce after some years and I have to repeat same treatment again?

3) How many times eye can be treated either LASER and surgical?

4) Any advise/suggestion for me?

It is not likely that the drops are causing your problem. It's not presbyopia. It could be glaucoma. Get another opinion

Thanks Doctor for reply.

If Presbyopia does not develop in a myopic at age 33, then what it could be that is causing reading from near blurry?

Could it because of glaucoma or the eye drops that is causing this poor near vision?

You need to get a second opinion. Presbyopia does not develop in a myope at age 33.  Repeat see an Eye MD ophthalmologist for a complete second opinion.
