help me please, a Glaucoma patient who has a fungal keratitis

my dad was diagnosed with glaucoma last january 2009 & he is responding well to his medications which includes duotrav, azopt  and alphagan. sometime he needs eye lubricant because of the dryness of his eye, he maintained his vision then suddenly last July 1,2010 he suffered pain in his eyes, have some sensaton & tears & his eyes gets red.
we consulted a doctor specializing eye diseases. after we submit his eyes for corneal scrapping, the doctor says it is a fungal infection of the cornea. the doctor gave Vigamox(from every 3 hours, now 3 times a day), amphothericin(from every hour to every 2 hours), nizoral(every hour 24 hours a day). That's really hard taking such eyedrops, As of now, he doing his check up (from every other day, now its everday already). I want to know how long will i take to cure that infection. My dad cant attend anymore with his work & other activities because of this. If it heals, what will he do to avoid the same infection or any other kind of corneal infection? the unbearable pain around his eyes, how will we lessen it? any suggestion pls... thank you & God Bless.

You father is an ultra serious problem that is difficult to treat and that often leads to partial or complete blindness. Fungus infections can require treatment for months on end. Since oral pills do not reach the cornea in high concentration drops must be used very frequently.

Thi is one of the most serious problems in the field of ophthalmology.
