Irritating eye floaters

I seen an ophthalmologist a couple weeks ago due to vision distortion (wavy ring in my central vision) in my right eye which he deemed as ocular migraines after dilating my eyes and thoroughly examining my eyes.  I explained to him that I had an increase of floaters and he told me he seen a lot of floaters in my peripheral vision.  I know they are harmless especially since I know now that I have no eye diseases or issues.  I have read that over time floaters can settle to the bottom of the eye, is this true?  I really hope so because they are extremely annoying; the way they flitter and float around my line of sight - very distracting!

Btw, I am 42 years old, I have Dry Eye Syndrome and I wear reading glasses.  My far vision is fine.

No because I have been seeing floaters for 50 years. When I think about them I see them (right now on the computer screen) if I don't think about them they disappear.

I don't try to see them; they are just there off and on.  It seems worse when I am looking at the computer screen or if I am reading.  Are there any tips that can help me?

Some times they settle but often they don't and if you try and see them you can. Most people "tune them out" due to neuro-adaptation and they become blocked out.
