Are there any signs to be look for high eye pressure. and how often is good enough to check eye pressure as I have history of  glucoma in my family. I am 39.I normally check every six months. Is there any precautions I can take to avoid glucoma.

I hope you mean you are 39 years of age. an eye intraocular pressure (IOP) of 39 is an emergency.

See an Eye MD ophthalmologist yearly. Primary open angle glaucoma the most common type does not usually cause symptoms.

Sorry for my shortcut english, I am 39 yrs old, my eye pressure is around 18-20. I just wanted to know if there is a sudden change in pressure are there any signs to look for.

Your English is OK. I just read the "39.I "close together, and thought you were giving us your pressure. I know that there is sometimes pain with glaucoma, but the doctor says that with primary open glaucoma, there is no signs to look.

You could browse the discussions here, do a google on glaucoma, check what wikipedia has to say.

Perhaps the doctor will also answer again,
