large blood vessel

I recently noticed a large raised red blood vessel on the medial side in the conjunctiva of my eye.  The rest of my eye has no redness or injection.  What would cause this and is there something I can do to reduce it's appearance?  I recently had a cervical corticosteroid injection, other than that I do not take any meds other than otc vitamins.

It is best to see an ophthalmologist to determine the cause of the large blood vessel.  There are rare serious causes associated with this.
