Prolonged PVD

Sept 13, 2015 flashing (lightening bolt) outer corner right eye. Next day diagnosed with PVD. Returned for exam six weeks later, PVD still there with floaty cloud in my vision, but no detached retina. Returned for yearly checkup Sept 2016. PVD and "(lightening bolt)" still there in dark. Doc said everything was fine. It's now 1yr and 8 mo later and it's still there. My understandingg was that longest one ever lasted was 3 to 6 mo. Should I still worry about a detached retina? It's very irritating as I already have a lot of floaters that occured after cataract surgery 7 years ago. I've also had mybomenian(?) glands treated for dry eyes and plugs in lower. Eyes feel terrible by mid afternoon, I still do warm wash cloth treatment each night. Floaters are exhausting, especially this big one still attached to flasher!

Floaters can last indefinitely and often do. Flashes usually stop 1-2 months but can persist for years and years. Floaters and dry eyes not related. If you have dry eyes read the previously posted discussions on it.
