What I mean by hair line connected is that my optic nerve is not connected all of the way. I am a person who was shaken as a baby. I have also been told by several people that when I was two months old that I was completely blind. Could that happen again?

I don't know what you mean by hair line connected. that's not going to happen except in the most rare forms of trauma. ON don't disconeect without major trauma.

It depends. you can see the optic nerve behind the eye and the contents of the socket with B scan and its lot less expensive and no radiation exposure.

Generally b scan ultrasound is better to visualize the optic nerve.

MRI can be helpful. Both is best, Neither is necessary if the optic nerve problem is visible looking into the eye.
