post vitrectomy "eclipse"

I am six days post vitrectomy and have recovered vision to 20/40 already.   However, I am seeing what looks like an eclipse--a dark red circle.   Would that be the gas bubble?

If  you have gas or air in your eye its likely but you should ask questions like that of your surgeon

Congrats on 20/40.  If you had gas put in, You may be seeing the fluid, as your eye is now mostly gas filled. The eye's fluid will slowly re-fill and the gas will slowly absorb. In the eye, the bubble will be at the top, and the fluid will be at the bottom, but it will appear inverted due to the eye's optics. It may distort colors or perhaps the fluid is reddish. You will see a lot of unusual views of the bubble-fluid margins until it's all gone.  Good luck for continued recovery.
