rainbow halos

I had a sudden start today and a new sympto.  I woke up and prepared to take off for work when my vision, I noticed was really blurry. In addition to vertigo which I've had for about three weeks-about once a day, no nausea, I had double vision at street lights as I drove to work.  I contacted my medical doctor and then I went to an ophthalmologist.  I have 20/25 vision, and when he put a bright light to the left or to the right I saw one ray of light about 4 feet to each side, but when he shined it in front of my eyes at the same distance, I saw two lights.  When he pulled it back farther it turned into one.  I decided to kill time between medical appts. and went to a dim restaurant and waited until it was time for my emergency MRI he ordered.  As I sat looking up at the  recessed lights there was a rainbow halo around each.  I asked my waitress if she could  see the colors too and she said she only saw the yellow light. That's all I know for now.  No headache by the way

This discussion is related to rainbow halos when stressed, not glaucoma.
