raise IOP left eye

good day

Main question is how to raise very low eye pressure, its now around  2- most was 5. it fluctuates

Reason: Hospitalized for 10 weeks, I had.. Acanthamoeba Kerititis. This is finished  and there is no inflammation in the eye. Whilst doing all the intensive eye drops etc. I devleoped very HIGH IOP  40 +. With 2 cryo operations, they lowered the pressure.

In January a cataract formed, they had no choice but to remove it as it was touching the cornea.

The cornea is irregular, twisted, needs a transplant.
Now for the same eye, had an echo doppler, revealed partial detached retina. and the blood flow very low.
and other medical technlolgy.

So all this is due to the disease, bombardment of drops and my dr. said the cryo procedure- result hardly any pressure in eye.

If.. the pressure does return  - then there are all sorts of pososibilities.

Cosmetic surgery on eye, is for later date. my lid droops.

So would welcome any advice to raise to IOP. My blood pressure is normal and I take insulin.

thank you  Anna

I have the same problem from retina surgeries and a non-functioning ciliary body. Due to the recommendation of Dr. Ciulla, I saw a glaucoma specialist. He suggested many things, but all my retinologist would approve of is atroping 2 x day. My pressure is up from 4-8. Look up Dr. Thomas Ciulla on google. It's a possibility. Or see a glaucoma specialist. I do not know if the atropine is helping, but my eye is better, and not worse.

I am sorry you have this condition. I know that it is very frightening.

Acanthamoeba is a terrible bug. Good luck. Take great care of the other eye.

To: Dr. Hagan,

Thank you for your reply. As I understand from my severe problem.

My eye Drs. tell me ,A partial detached retina + diseased cornea caused by Acanthamoeba Kerititis,

Nothing can be done unless eye Pressure is raised.

The eye is soft and any surgery, of low pressures would destroy the eye.

Sincerely,

Anna

You are much better off with a single diget IOP than 40+.  Those low IOPs are just fine and we often intentionaly try to get it that low in severe glaucoma by doing filtering procedures.
