refractive surprise

I had cataract surgery in one eye last year. It was supposed to be long vision and ended up short vison.  My surgeon  had troble with the measurements.  I now have had the second eye surgery and have 20/20 long vision.
I have always had to wear glasses with prismns to correct double vision. The problem is they are so far aprt that it is not possible to have prisms that work.

Could the near sighted eye be corrected?  I can't drive with this problem and my eyes are continually strained

Thank you very much for taking  time to answer my question.

I have made an appointment with Dr. Mc Keown at Bascom Palmer.
I was just concerned why my existing  double vision drastically changed after Cataract surgery. I was hoping not to have surgery again.

At this point you need a strabismus (eye muscle)  surgeon more than you need a cataract surgery

Thank you very much for your fast response.

The surgeon that performed the surgery is telling me changing the short distance to long will not  correct my double vision enough to have prisms.

Before surgery I had prisms 3.5 up and 3.5 down which corrected my double vision. After surgery they are approx. 10 up and 10 down and prisms can't be made. every time i try to get a second opinion from catarct specialists they refer me to  a muscle specialist. I am hesitant to have correction surgery  on my muscles as i can't understand how it changed so much after surgery.
I would welcome your suggestions.

Read this carefully several times:

The "short vision" eye likely can be shifted to "long vision" by lasik surgery. Then you would wear no line progressive glasses with prisms. Without glasses things closer than 20 feet will become progressively more difficult to see without glasses.
