I have the same exact condition, I cannot look at a specific point with both eyes but can use both eyes just fine without double vision, and can also alternate between my eyes. I have done vision therapy which only made me notice the problem more. I have not been able to find a clean answer for my condition and am considering surgery.
If the eyes are misaligned outward its called a exotropia if the eyes are misaligned inward its call esotropia up or down is hyper- or hypo- tropia
Generic eye misalignment problems are called strabismus
