i take it you were looking at the light while wearing some sort of protection (ie googles) if not you will have subjected your eyes to large quantities on uv light - more than in is normal sunlight - high levels of uv or high unexpected sun exposure can be linked to cataracts! please tell me you were protected as your post does not make that clear!!
Before you get uv damage to your lens to cause cataracts you will get a server kertitis also know as "snow blindess."
High exposure to light will cause acute retinal damage before cataracts or corneal kertatitis.
